The film was ahead of its time, premiering in 1997 and code switching to put the woman in the high powered career seat, and her male counterpart is genuine and doesn’t do shitty things that are somehow redeemed by true love.
It was like Sunshine and Gravity had a baby and it inherited the worst traits of both parents.
It’s been too long since I wrote about music. The truth is, movies are easier and I’m kind of lazy. Don’t get me wrong, I love movies and television. But when it comes to the real, slow burn kind of changes in life – those eras come with a soundtrack.

I think Shonda made Grey’s for a lot of people. She made it for people of color, pushing the boundaries of representations (at the time it was created). But I think that she also made it for people like me. For the basic white women who love drama, she gave that to us with a side of social education, one that we desperately need.
Spice World nods at their origin story while still expressing an individuality and a depth to the girls that other manufactured bands of the time did not have. In a time when Justin Timberlake couldn’t sneeze without permission, Geri was screaming feminist truths and no one dared to tell her that it wasn’t allowed.

I’m not sure if this is a bad movie or if it is just entirely comprised of hateable characters. The overwhelming tone of sarcasm that goes through the whole movie makes me think that they’re trying to make a statement and be clever, but it just left me feeling triggered. It might be time to put this one to bed, it’s leaving Netflix in three days (on February 28) so you still have time to watch it and either agree with me or start a fight. I’m down for either, six readers, come at me.
I believe that if we do not adapt we will die, and I believe that humans as whole hate to adapt. I believe that we will never choose to change, and therefore it takes revolution in order to do so.
